Collapse ▲Gardeners At Work
Our Master Gardener℠ volunteers worked hard on producing some wonderful specimens for sale at the end of April. Thank you all who came out and supported our Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of Burke County with your purchases. Master Gardener℠ volunteers are dedicated to community outreach and education on horticultural practices and assisting citizens in getting started in gardening.
We had several special guests at our Plant Sale. The Beekeepers Association set up a table selling honey and educating visitors on the importance of the Honeybee. Autumn Busbee from the Bonnie Plants Foundation came and provided visitors with an opportunity to pot a free plant. Visitors could choose from between an Eggplant, two types of snack peppers, and several floral choices.
We not only sold plants during our Plant Sale. We had two sections of merchandise showcasing household and gardening yard sale items.
We wanted to showcase our gardeners at work during this event. Master Gardener Volunteers worked tirelessly for weeks to ensure that they had a good inventory of plants for sale. All week our volunteers organized and labeled all of the wonderful inventory you see in our group photo below:
