Note:  We are sold out of the Tayberry

Extension’s annual Small Fruit Plant Sale is now in progress. The sale is starting early this year and will run through March 4, 2022. Proceeds from the sale go towards funding Extension programs and activities throughout the year. Gift certificates will be available for those gardeners on your holiday shopping list who might be a little difficult to buy for.

This year’s offerings include apple trees, peach trees, and figs, as well as a variety of small fruits and asparagus crowns. An exciting new plant for this year is the tayberry. A cross between a blackberry and raspberry, the tayberry has a large beautiful, purple fruit and is grown the same as other brambles.

Order forms, variety information, and pricing can be found on our website or you can call our office at 828-764-9480 for more information or to place an order. All orders must be pre-paid by cash or check. Plant pick-up days will be March 23 and 24 and it will be curbside pick-up again this year.

These plants have been chosen for their suitability to grow and thrive here in our area. Planting and growing instructions will be provided. Even though spring seems far away, it is closer than you think. Start making plans now to grow some backyard fruits. Make sure there’s some apple pie and blueberry muffins in your future!
