Today’s program is on planting fruit trees. We had our final day of order pick ups from our annual small fruit sale we do here at our office. A big thank you to everyone who ordered from us. I wanted to share some basic information when planting the fruit trees you got. Our apples came in a water retention gel wrapped in plastic. They will need to be planted and watered Immediately. The pears, peaches, figs, and cherries came in containers and should still be planted soon. If the plant has a graft union like apples, peaches and pears, the graft union should be planted at least two inches above the soil level. Fruit trees will prefer well draining soil and a good mulching to help with water retention and as an insulator to mitigate extreme temperatures. All of the fruit trees will prefer full sunlight, so ensure there is plenty of it. If you have any questions please reach out to our office with any concerns.
