WHEP is a 4-H and FFA youth natural resource program dedicated to teaching wildlife and fisheries habitat management to junior and senior level (ages 8-19) youth. Visit the Carolina Raptor Center ignites imaginations and inspires engagement in the natural world through the exploration and rehabilitation of birds of prey.

Youth will learn the basics of fishing while enjoying time outdoors! This fun and educational program will introduce participants to fishing skills such as casting techniques, identifying common fish species, understanding fishing equipment, and learning about aquatic habitats, conservation and safety. Youth will have the opportunity to practice their skills and spend time fishing while learning the importance of protecting our natural resources.

Beyond the Screen: Master the Art of Confidence, Connection, and Class.Are you ready to stand out in a crowd? This 4-H Lead & Succeed workshop isn’t your grandma’s etiquette class- it’s a crash course in “hacking” for the modern world! Workshop covers Digital Citizenship (media, phones, emails, and photos), Communication how-to’s (conversation tactics to engage or disengage), Dining Discoveries (finger-foods to which fork to use), putting your best self forward (poise and presentation). We will wrap up our Social Toolbox workshop with participants “hosting” their invited guests at the “Potluck with Purpose” on that Thursday evening! Talk the Talk & Walk the Walk!
