Today’s program is on Plant Diseases. There are several kinds of diseases and maladies that can affect plants. Viruses are spread from microscopic organisms that live in the soil, seeds, and parts of plant tissue. Just like when we humans are stressed or under the weather, we are more susceptible to sickness. Each affliction has its own unique symptoms, but it's important to notice specific tendencies. Darkened stems and leaves are classified as Necrosis. Yellowing is Chlorosis. If the plant is not growing at a typical rate, it's most likely stunted. Any weird shape or spot should be noted, as long it’s not the plant's typical form. These are usually caused by soil nutrients, weather phenomena, soil drainage or a mix of issues. If you notice these kinds of problems, contact us for more information or help in identifying.
