This is Brandi Silver, Family and Consumer Sciences agent with the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Burke County Center. Our program today is about an exciting event happening at the Burke County Fair—a Pie Baking Contest!

On November 7, we invite all youth and adults to showcase their baking skills. Whether it’s a cherished family recipe passed down through generations or a brand-new creation you’ve developed, we’d love to see your pies! There’s no fee to enter, and all types of dessert pies are welcome—just no ice cream cakes.

Entries will be received between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the Exhibit Hall. Be sure your pie is made from scratch, with an 8-inch diameter, and don’t forget to include your recipe. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, so bring your best to the table and show off your skills! Even if you don't bake, stop by to see some incredible homemade creations and support your local community.
