Are you planning on preserving your extra food this summer? Make sure that your equipment and techniques are tested and up to date. Your dial pressure canner gauge should be tested for accuracy each year to ensure safe food processing. You can get your pressure canner gauge tested for FREE at our office, by appointment.

By calling our office or visiting our website, burke.ces.ncsu.edu, you can download or request a copy of our Trusted Food Preservation Resources Guide. This guide is key to ensuring you can trust your recipes and techniques to be effective and safe.

So Easy to Preserve is a great book of tested recipes and techniques for all types of food preservation, like canning, freezing, fermentation, and dehydration. If you are looking for one great resource, especially for the beginner, this is it. Copies are available to purchase for $20 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Burke. County office. I am also available to answer canning or any food preservation questions by phone or email.
