Hello, this is Nicki Carpenter, 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Burke Center.

Hello Burke County, as this new school year kicks off, I wanted to remind you that Burke County 4-H is here to support your educational needs. We have activities, curriculum and programs to support every learning need in all educational settings including after school, private schools and home school.

To get back in the swing of things, several of our clubs are starting back their meetings and our county program has been busy planning for the upcoming months. I would like to personally invite ANYONE with youth ages 5-18 that may be interested in 4-H to stop by one of our First Steps 4-H Club meetings. I have started this club to offer families a place to learn about 4-H, meet other families and ideally branch off into their own clubs once comfortable with the process. I also invite our seasoned 4-H families (even if your 4-H’er has aged out) to come share and mentor to others. Our next First Steps 4-H club meeting will be September 19th at 5 p.m. at our Extension office that is located in the Burke Agricultural Building. This information is also listed on our 4-H Public Calendar on our website: burke.ces.ncsu.edu. For more information you may also call our office at 828-764-9480.

Thank you, this has been Nicki Carpenter, 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Burke Center.
