This is Matt Rodriguez, horticulture agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Burke Center.
The Drexel Community Fair is coming to the Drexel fairgrounds from August 19-24. Your Local Extension Office will be there throughout the week along with several other wonderful organizations. Our Youth is a big part of the fair! Several talented kids will be showcasing their animals in the barn this year. Be sure to check out the Exhibit Hall area for more community crafts and agricultural fun. Live Music will be held every night with several local bands that are sure to rock. Fireworks will be displayed every night. The Carnival is here and the rides look amazing! All the games and prizes that you could ask for are waiting to be played. The Food stalls are chock full of your favorite fair treats and sweets. Burgers, Hotdogs, Deep Fried Oreos and funnel cakes galore! Don’t forget the Freshly Squeezed Lemonade. We look forward to seeing Y'all at the fair!
