Hello, this is Nicki Carpenter, 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Burke Center.

Summer Fun is under way with Burke County 4-H. Some of our upcoming classes include: Creative Engineering where young inventors will be challenged to use various building blocks, Legos and other STEM materials to create their own constructions as well as participate in some friendly building competitions. We also have an exciting opportunity to discover the butterfly life cycle and learn what is in a chrysalis through hands on exploration and activities. To wrap up our June schedule, we are planning time to Stitch Together with beginning and intermediate sewing classes. The beginning class will learn basic hand and machine sewing with no prior experience needed. Our intermediate sewing class will enhance previous sewing skills and how to put these skills into practice.
