Adventurer campers practice their canoeing skills on Lake Hazel.

Our camp week is June 19 – 24, 2016.

Camp is open to youth ages 8 – 14.  Cost of camp includes transportation to and from camp from the Wake County 4-H office, insurance, meals, and camp store money.  Campers are expected to bring their own clothing, toiletries, and linens.

Betsy-Jeff Penn is accredited by the American Camping Association and Wake County 4-H staff accompany Wake County 4-H campers to camp for the week.  We offer a private blog for parents to view camp photos and communicate with campers.

Traditional camp for youth ages 8 – 12 includes activities such as swimming, canoeing, ropes courses, archery and horseback riding, as well as evening activities.  Cost is $450.

Adventurer camp is for 13 and 14 year olds who want to learn more about living in the great outdoors.  Adventurers learn how to cook food on an open fire, do ropes courses, and participate in some traditional camp activities.  Cost is $450.

Trekker camp is for 14 year olds who want to participate in advanced off-site camp activities, including an overnight canoe trip and climbing at Pilot Mountain State Park. The Trekker camp is currently full for 2016, but we have a waiting list.  Cost is $475.
