School will be out soon, so it’s time to start thinking about some FUN ways to keep the kids occupied and engaged throughout the summer.

4-H Summer Fun is just what they need! 

Summer fun is a series of fun and educational activities, for ages 5-18, covering a variety of topics and interests. You don’t have to be in 4-H to participate but it’s a great way for kids to learn more about 4-H.

Here’s what we have lined up so far. Keep watching for additional offerings to be added as activities are scheduled and confirmed.

JUNE
June 4,5,6  – Kids Cooking Camp
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily
Ages 8-13
Kids will learn basic cooking skills, kitchen equipment & safety, menu planning, nutrition, how to prepare several snacks and meals, local food tour, and grocery games! Lunch/snacks provided.
(please advise of any food allergies upon registration)
Cost – $100 for all three days.

June 12 – Pup Pals
9:00 a.m.  – 12:00noon
Ages 5-11
Learn about dog care, safety, nutrition, play, and responsibility. See how you can be a better Pal for your pup! You do not have to be a pet owner to attend. Do not bring live animals.
Cost – $12

June 18 – Creative Engineering
9:00 a.m.  – 12:00noon
Ages 5-7+
These young inventors will have the challenge and opportunity to create a building masterpiece using multiple building blocks, various shapes and materials.
Snack is provided.
Cost – $15

June 19 – What is a Chrysalis
9:00 a.m. – 12:00noon
Ages 5-7+
Where did the caterpillar go? It turned into a what? These participants will explore the butterfly lifecycle through literacy and hands-on activities. Snack is provided.
Cost – $15

June 24 & 25 – Stitch Together
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day
Ages 9-18
June 24 – Beginners learn basic hand and machine sewing skills.
June 25 – Intermediate students have basic hand and machine sewing skills and will explore ways to put these skills into practice.
All materials and supplies will be provided. Bring a packed lunch.
Cost – $25 per day or $40 for both days

JULY
July 9, 10, 11 – Grilling Bootcamp

3:30 – 8:00 p.m. daily
Ages 12-18
Kids will learn basic cooking skills, kitchen equipment & safety, menu planning, foods & nutrition, how to prepare several snacks and meals as well as grocery games! (please advise of any food allergies upon registration)
Cost – $100 for all three days

July 13 – Adulting 101
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ages 14-18
Teens will gain essential life skills such as money and time management, responsibilities, insurance, meal planning, workforce readiness tools, and basic home care and maintenance. Learn to tackle the demands of the real world with confidence and practical know-how. Pack a lunch, snack is provided.
Cost $50

July 15 – Take My Picture
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ages 12-18
Learn the ins and outs of phone photography. Using the given features on your phone camera, discover how to take better photos, adjust for lighting, help people pose, basic editing and ideas for photo storage. Bring a phone you can take pictures with and the charging cable. Bring a packed lunch, snack provided.
Cost $20 

July 19 – Cloverbud Bucket Day
9:00 a.m. – 12:00noon
Ages 5-7
Summer Fun participants will have the chance to vote for their “bucket list” activity throughout the summer. The winning activity will be their Bucket Day! Snack will be provided.
Cost $15

July 30, 31, August 1 – Outdoor Adventures
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day
Ages 13-18
Join us for some outdoor fun and adventure! Water sports, swimming, outdoor cooking and more. You definitely want to catch this wave of outdoor activity. Each day bring swimwear, water shoes, dry towel, sunscreen, sunglasses/hat, and water bottle. Pack a lunch each day, snack provided.
Cost $100 for all 3 days

AUGUST 
August 2 – Bucket Day 

9:00 a.m. – 12:00noon
Ages 8 -18
Summer Fun participants will have the chance to vote for their “bucket list” activity throughout the summer. The winning activity will be their Bucket Day! Snack will be provided.
Cost $15

August 5 – Fly Zone
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ages 9-18
Let’s explore things that FLY! Airplanes, kites, drones, rockets, birds, gliders, and more. Are you curious? Always watching the sky? Wonder how it stays in the air? Join in on our discovery about flight. Bring a packed lunch, snack is provided.
Cost $25

August 6 – Cake Decorating
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ages 10-18
Participants will learn and practice the skills of decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies! This will be a sweet time to be creative, learn about entrepreneurship opportunities and gain another skill that will last a lifetime. Bring a packed lunch, snack will be provided.
Cost $45

August 7 – Kitchen Connections
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Ages 14-18
Participants will learn basic cooking skills, kitchen equipment & safety, menu planning, nutrition, snack & meal prep, and more! Lunch and snacks provided.
Cost $30

Details about registration:

  • All participants must be registered in 4-H Online prior to attending their first Summer Fun event.
  • Payment is due (by cash or check only) at the time of registration and includes a one time registration fee of $10 per child.
  • Class sizes are limited so register early to reserve your spot.
  • Classes are subject to cancellation if minimum registrations are not met.
  • NO REFUNDS unless the activity is canceled by the 4-H Office.
