4-H paper clover campaign

Our 4-H Youth Development Agent here in Polk County, Helen Blackwell, happened to be in the checkout lane at Tractor Supply today when she overheard a conversation happening between the clerk and the couple in front of her.

“Would you like to donate to the 4-H Paper Clover Campaign?” the clerk queried.

“Well, does the money go to 4-H?” the customers asked.

“Yes, it does,” she replied.

“But does it go to our local 4-H program?” the couple wanted to know.

That’s when Helen broke into the conversation and introduced herself. She just happened to be wearing a 4-H shirt, so she carried quite an air of authority as she assured them that their dollars absolutely went to help 4-H programs in our county. She explained that monies collected by the fundraiser can be used for 4-H participants who want to attend camp or other leadership opportunities. Of course, the couple decided to purchase a paper clover on the spot!

Would you like to make a donation to help out Polk County 4-H too? Then simply drop into the Tractor Supply store at 651 W. Mills St. in Columbus and be sure to get your paper clover as you check out!
