N.C. Cooperative Extension of Chatham County and Southern States of Siler City are teaming up to put on another great Cattle College Class! The second class in the four class series is on Herd Health, Fly Control and Pasture Management. Come learn from Dr. Jody Wade, Professional Services Veterinarian with Boehringer Ingelheim, as he speaks about setting up your herd for success through herd health. We will also hear from Dr. Wes Watson, Entomology Professor and Extension Specialist with NC State University, who will share his research results on the variable effects of different pesticides on fly control, he will also be touching on horse fly and mite/lice control. Lastly, we will hear from Ashley Robbins, Livestock Extension Agent for Chatham County, as she touches on a few critical summer grazing weed management strategies you may want to consider going into the summer.

For Pesticide Applicators – this course is approved for 2 credit hours in sub-classes G,H,K,L,N,O,D and X. Make sure to bring your license for scanning.

This is a FREE event and it will have a catered meal from Scurlock’s Catering. Menu is to include Country Style Steak, Scalloped Potatoes, Green Beans, Rolls and Banana Pudding for dessert!
