Backyard Fruits Workshop

— Written By and last updated by

Extension’s Successful Gardener workshops are starting on Tuesday, February 6 with a great topic, Backyard Fruits: A How-To Workshop. This first workshop is being presented while our annual Small Fruit Sale is underway, in an effort to help folks make good choices in what they should be growing. We’ll talk about pollinators, planting, pruning, site selection and about what types of plants would best fit your family’s needs. Space is an important consideration and some plants just aren’t as suited to limited space as others. There are ways to circumvent these issues and we will cover them as well as insect and disease problems.

We will have folks there that can help you make good decisions and you’ll also get lots of good information about growing home fruits. It’s a great learning opportunity and best of all, it’s free!

So, whether you have a desire to grow a little or a lot, your best pathway to success begins at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 6 at the Burke County Agricultural Building, located at 130 Ammons Dr. in Morganton.

Although this is a free workshop, we would appreciate a registration phone call at 828-764-9480. If you have additional questions or need more details let us know. Meanwhile…Think Spring!
