Burke County 4-H Livestock Judging Team

On February 20, 2016, the new Burke County 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in their first contest, at the North Carolina Junior Hereford Association’s Judging Contest in Raleigh.

Seniors Pate Pollard, and Burke Pollard competed as individuals while the Junior Team of Emily and Ellie Shuping and Avery Pollard competed as a team.

Senior results had Pate Pollard 4th High Individual in Sheep. Burke Pollard finished 45th out of 86 and Pate Pollard finished 50th out of 86. As a Team they finished 21st out of 30 teams without the 2 other members required for a team.

In the Juniors, Avery Pollard was 12th High Individual in Goats and 45th out of 85 participants. Emily Shuping placed 55th and Ellie Shuping placed 69th out of 85 participants. As a Team, the Juniors placed 15th out of 31 teams without a fourth member.

A great showing for their first competition. The Judging Team is coached by 4-H volunteers Todd and Rebecca Shuping and Livestock Agent Damon Pollard.
