With the holidays quickly approaching, many are often in search of a unique and meaningful gift for the children in their lives. Burke County 4-H would like to suggest giving your children the gift of 4-H Summer Camp for the holidays. 4-H Summer Camp is an excellent summer learning opportunity in a fun-filled environment. At 4-H Camp, youth have the opportunity to do many things they just can’t at home.

This coming summer, Burke County 4-H will be camping at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC, on the North Carolina coast, July 27 to August 1.

Camp activities at the Eastern 4-H Center include swimming, campfires, canoeing, kayaking, crabbing, fishing, environmental and aquatic studies, crafts and lots of other exciting activities. To learn more about this camp please visit their website at

4-H Camp is open to all children ages 8 to 14, and children do not have to be a member of 4-H to attend. There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee required to reserve a camping spot, as space is very limited. The total cost for the week of camp and transportation is $500.

If you would like more information about 4-H Summer Camp please contact the Burke County 4-H office. So this year instead of the usual gifts, consider 4-H summer camp with Burke County 4-H!
