Extension Announces Trip to Pennsylvania

Burke County Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce they will be sponsoring a trip to Pennsylvania, June 8-11, 2011. This trip is open to ALL Burke County citizens.

One of the many highlights of the trip, includes a tour of Longwood Gardens, where you’ll see over 1,000 acres of conservatories and gardens with an intricate and extensive network of fountains. Participants will see a fountain show and enjoy a gourmet buffet in their private dining room. Other highlights include a tour of Winterthur, a DuPont estate and garden, Historic Philadelphia, an Amish farm, and a mushroom production farm. As a special treat on the way home, there will be a stop at Hershey World in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The cost of the four-day excursion will be $675 per person (based on double occupancy) with a $250 deposit due April 1st. However, after this date, spaces will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will be staying at the Holiday Inn & Suites and will be travelling with Holiday Tours.
