Where can you find the best and most direct solutions to consumer problems and questions?  Look to The Federal Citizen Information Center's (FCIC) 2007 Consumer Action Handbook. This handbook is the everyday guide for helping people find the best and most direct solutions to consumer problems and questions.   Available are useful tips to make better purchasing decisions, including information on buying cars, understanding credit, protecting privacy, avoiding identity theft, and much more.  You’ll also find a directory listing the addresses and phone numbers for hundreds of Corporations many that have special departments to handle consumer questions and concerns.

The Consumer Action Handbook is categorized in four sections:
Part 1—Be a Savvy Consumer
Part 2—Filing A Complaint
Party 3—Key Consumer Information Resources
Part 4—Consumer Assistance Directory

The handbook gives consumers the steps to resolve any difficulties that may arise after a purchase. A sample complaint letter is available as a guide. There is also a directory of hundreds of consumer contacts at companies, government offices, and professional associations.
